Shady Sunset
As the days get hotter, long summer afternoons call for refreshing cocktails outside. Enter the Shady Sunset, a masterful blend of sugar and spice created by mixologist Fabio Dos Santos at the W Fort Lauderdale’s Living Room. The beachfront bar’s breezy terrace with lounge-style seating is the ideal spot to sit and sip while enjoying the drink’s namesake. Simple syrup, strawberry and grapefruit lend sweetness to the crisp flavor of Dano’s Blanco Tequila, and this delicious mix is balanced with a slight kick courtesy of the muddled jalapeño and fresh lime juice—the perfect blend of sweet and heat to get the evening started.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 ounces Dano’s Blanco Tequila
3/4 ounce simple syrup
3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
1 ounce fresh grapefruit juice
A splash of club soda
Muddled slice of jalapeño and strawberries
Shake simple syrup, fresh lime juice and grapefruit juice with muddled jalapeño and strawberries, and then strain over ice. Add a splash of club soda, and garnish with a slice of strawberry.
