EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
The executive assistant will support the publisher, editor-in-chief and director advertising & business development. This role will be responsible for all administrative needs and will act as a key liaison between Venice magazine and all other internal and external groups.

 Primary responsibilities:
  • Managing phone correspondence, calendar reminders, expenses and other magazine-related duties for the publisher
  • Coordinating and preparing presentations
  • Organizing, maintaining and procuring contacts
  • Drafting correspondence
  • Creating and maintaining sales contracts
  • Assisting with social media analysis and content creation
  • Organizing various mailing and distribution lists
  • Maintaining a presentable office space
  • Assisting at special events
  • Drafting correspondence

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated 1-2 years administrative/office experience
  • Passion for branded content and digital media
  • Positive attitude and dedication to excellence
  • Superior organizational and writing skills, detail oriented and punctual
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to anticipate the needs of his/her direct superiors
  • College degree preferred
  • Extremely computer and smartphone savvy
  • Knowledgeable in digital marketing, including social media
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required, and cloud-based organization systems (including Dropbox, Slack and others)

EDITORIAL INTERN
Dynamic and creative editorial interns for Fort Lauderdale most exciting city/regional lifestyle magazine. Interns will have regular interaction with the editorial staff and explore the behind-the-scenes creation of a glossy magazine. Students will have the chance to see their name in print, executing articles from start to finish. Though headquartered in Miami Beach, interns will mostly work out of the Fort Lauderdale satellite office or remotely. NOTE: Internship is unpaid but can be used toward college credit, gaining on-the-job experience/training and possible letter of recommendation.

Qualifications:
  • Possess strong use of AP style Have fluid interviewing and writing skills
  • Possess time and workflow management skills
  • Be detail oriented and work well in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Be familiar with InDesign, WordPress, Photoshop and Microsoft Office

Responsibilities of the internship may include:
  • Developing themes and content for social media platforms
  • Executing and pitching story ideas
  • Editing and fact-checking online and print content
  • Writing FOB stories, profiles and features
  • Basic data entry and WordPress website content management
