Feeling like a taste of the Far East tropics? No need to hop on a flight to the Pacific; instead, head to The Diplomat Beach Resort’s modern Japanese restaurant, Monkitail, for a Rye Tai. A twist on the classic mai tai, the Rye Tai features Japanese Suntory Whisky Toki. “It’s a blended whisky with subtle hints of sweet and spicy, and the approachability makes it perfect for those who are new to Japanese whiskies,” says Megan Vandenbosch, senior bartender at Monkitail. The Monkitail’s signature Rye Tai wouldn’t be complete without a rum floater sprinkled with nutmeg and garnishes of mint and fresh orange. This light, beachy drink just might be the perfect way to start your tropical evening. 3555 S. Ocean Drive, Hollywood, diplomatresort.com
